OSCAL KIDO 2: A Safe Digital Partner for Kids' Growth

Handing a tablet to a child should not feel like handing them the keys to the internet. The KIDO 2 is OSCAL's dedicated kids' tablet, built from the ground up with eye safety, physical durability, and parental control as first-class features rather than afterthoughts. It runs a 10.1-inch HD+ IPS display, ships with a custom silicone protective case, and comes loaded with Google Kids Space out of the box.

TÜV SÜD Eye Care That Matters

The 10.1-inch HD+ IPS panel carries TÜV SÜD certification for hardware-level low blue light filtering. That is not a software night mode toggle. It is a physical reduction in the blue wavelengths that cause eye strain during extended use. Multiple viewing modes adapt to reading, video, and ambient light conditions. Combined with 1080P Widevine L1 certification, the screen handles Netflix and YouTube Kids at full resolution without downscaling.

Dual smart BOX speakers deliver clear audio for lessons, stories, and music. At 523.3 grams and 9.4mm thin, the tablet is light enough for small hands and slim enough to slip into a backpack's tablet sleeve.

Kid-Proof, Not Kid-Tolerant

The custom silicone protective case wraps the tablet with reinforced anti-shock corners. It also doubles as a built-in stand. The design assumes the tablet will be dropped, bumped, and occasionally sat on. The KIDO 2 does not need to be babied, which is the entire point.

Google Kids Space: A Walled Garden Worth Having

Google Kids Space preloads curated apps, books, and videos that are age-appropriate and ad-free. Parents set screen time limits, approve or block apps, and manage content filters from their own device. The child does not need to know parental controls exist for them to work.

The experience is not locked-down to the point of uselessness. Smart Google Lens lets kids identify plants, translate signs, and solve homework problems by pointing the camera. WPS Office handles document editing for school projects. Split Screen 2.0 lets them watch a lesson on one side while taking notes on the other.

Performance That Does Not Lag

The Unisoc T310 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM and 8GB expansion handles multitasking without stutter. 64GB of internal storage plus microSD support up to 2TB means offline content libraries are not a concern. The 6600mAh battery runs through a full school day of mixed use without hunting for a charger.

The 5MP front and 8MP rear cameras handle video calls and the occasional photo. Face Unlock works reliably, and the cameras are good enough for the use case. This is not a photography device.

What It Does Not Do

The KIDO 2 is Wi-Fi only. It does not have cellular connectivity, which means no unsupervised data access. It runs a quad-core processor that handles educational apps and streaming well but is not built for 3D gaming. The 64GB base storage fills up fast with offline video downloads, so budget for a microSD card.

Bottom Line

The KIDO 2 on the OSCAL Store does not try to be a general-purpose tablet that happens to have a kids' mode. It is a purpose-built device where eye safety, durability, and parental control are the core features, not add-ons. For parents who want a tablet that their child can use independently without worry, it earns its spot.
